It’s the season for the flu, colds and coughs. Protect yourself with warm fluids, teas, broths and soup. Drink tea at least three times daily, more when feeling poorly. Here are two quick recipes:

If you have the chills you need:
1-2 slices of peeled ginger root  (or a ginger tea bag)
1/2 lemon
1/2 – 1 tbs raw organic honey

Boil the ginger in 1 cup of water. Squeeze in the lemon and add honey. Enjoy!

If you feel warm and have a sore throat you need:
1 peppermint tea bag
1/2 lemon
1/2 -1 tbs raw organic honey

Make the peppermint tea, add the lemon and honey to taste. Enjoy!

If you have licorice or hibiscus flowers go ahead and add them too! The licorice soothes the throat and the hibiscus is rich in vitamin c. Add one tbsp of each.
